Bangalore Bellandur Lake Catches Fire BENGALURU in South East Bengaluru, infamous for its severe pollution levels, caught fire once again on Friday morning. Residents living around the lake reported huge clouds of smoke emitting from the highly polluted lake. Authorities are in the process of dousing the fire and the exact cause of the fire on the lake is yet to be ascertained. A huge plume of fire was spotted emanating seemingly spontaneously from the severely-polluted Bellandur lake on Friday morning. The smoke, which could be spotted from kilometres away, is being observed nearly a year after a similar plume of smoke caught the eye and invited the ire of the National Green Tribunal.
